Occasionally posts from The Rumour Mill may be accused of being somewhat sensationalistic but the report of preparedness tactics on a State-wide scale speaks for itself and needs no external influence to generate interest. September is National Preparedness Month, apparently, although what this means is not clear. Are people running drills of attending schools for practice vaccinations? Are people robbing funeral parlours for corpses to see exactly how many can be fitted into an ice rink?

Whatever they're doing, this could be interpreted as a way for the government to get the population prepared for the event of mass zombie attack, without having to cause panic by mentioning zombies, of which they seem to be in continued official denial.

So, for those who have thought of using their local school as a safehouse, it may well be worth noting that the building is likely to be overrun with anxious citizens and whilst there may be safety in numbers, masses of warm, pulsating flesh is likely to attract the attention of the zombie hordes...
